Yolanda Carrasco

"I was born in the city of Lima on June 29, 1957. I became interested in arts and crafts over 20 years ago. As I began to travel throughout Peru, I saw the raw reality of the hardworking Andean craftswoman who must survive harsh living conditions through her innate art. I identified with their plight and decided to learn about their craft with hopes of being able to sell them and thus help as many Andean communities as possible. Today I have achieved an excellent level of quality, which has taken my products to different countries, such as Spain, Germany, and France.

"I hope that through Novica I can offer the public a product of aggregate value, which is the sentiment of the working mothers of Peru. I continue to recover from the birth of my twins, which almost took my life from me, and from the loss of my oldest son. This life has given me many beatings, and that is why I hope to offer the best of myself and deliver the greatest opportunities to my family."
