"My name is Angsana Phathanodom, and my nickname is Toy. I was born on January 9, 1958, the eldest child of four. My father is a soldier and my mother a homemaker who always looked after us. I have a small and warm family, my husband is a master builder and our daughter now studies Industrial Engineering. My life is basic, easy and simple. I like to stay at home where I look after the house and I love sewing clothes.
"I graduated from high school in 1974 and then studied a course which included accounting, English and hotel management. When I completed it, I got a job at a hotel; I worked there for four years and had the occasion to improve my English, because there were many patrons from the American consulate. When I got married, we moved away for two years, and when we returned I enrolled in a course on French clothes, sewing and designing, which lasted two years. Actually, I have always had a special skill regarding designing and sewing clothes. As a kid, I was already making my dolls out of cloth. Anyway, when I completed the course, I opened my workshop in 1992, which I run with my heart and care for customer satisfaction.
"I love to create new designs that make my garments very special. I draw inspiration from magazines and use what I like to make my own products. I particularly use Thai silk, as well as Cambodian and Laotian silks, in various finish and colors. My favorites are dark red and black. Fortunately, I have a few assistants who are very skilled, which is a requirement if we are to meet the customers' high-quality demands. The work is delicate and we must control every single detail to meet customer expectations. Now I am happy to be working with Novica, because my collections can be promoted and appreciated internationally."
